Generation of Optical Frequency Combs
摘要
This chapter examines the generation of OFCs with superior spectral flatness and side-comb suppression, which can find applications in precise measurements, optical communications, and signal processing. Detailed simulation examples are provided. Various architectures including parallel and cascaded MZMs, PolMs, and DPPolMs are simulated in OptiSystem® to investigate comb flatness, spectral spacing, and side-comb suppression ratios (SCSR). The results emphasize the role of component configuration and modulation indices in tailoring comb characteristics for specific photonic applications.
