Regulation and Inclusivity in Finance and Accounting: Navigating Regulatory Frameworks and Technological Advancements
摘要
The accounting and finance industries are developing rapidly due to regulatory evolution, financial inclusion initiatives, and technological adoption. Protection of finance is provided by regulatory systems. In contrast, financial inclusion programs engage in unleashing economic opportunity for the unbanked, small issuers, and disadvantaged individuals. Sophistication grows in international financial markets. Institutions need to comply with rules laid down by bodies like the IFRS Foundation, FSB, and BCBS and incorporate emerging trends like decentralized finance (DeFi), cryptocurrencies, and algorithmic trading. GAAP and IFRS compliance today include sustainability reporting, real-time forecasting, and electronic taxation, including regulatory costs, particularly for SMEs. Technology is revolutionizing financial availability and regulation. AI and ML increase fraud prevention, risk scoring, and compliance while blockchain increases transparency and smart contracts. Digital banking, microfinance, and fintech innovations increase access to financial services but compromise security by making it vulnerable to threats like cybersecurity attacks, algorithmic bias, and data protection. There must be appropriate regulation to reconcile security and innovation. An inclusive and sustainable financial system properly balanced needs proportionate regulation, innovation, and access. Regulation does make markets fair, but additional regulation will hinder innovation and restrict access to capital. Regulators thought of the concept of fintech sandboxes under which testing could be done within regulated frameworks. All policymaker, regulatory, and financial institution players must navigate the new ground while achieving safety and financial inclusion. How this is regulated by policymakers, regulators, and financial institutions themselves is the topic of this paper. Based on case studies, regulatory best practice, and guidelines, it seeks to assist in informing the case in the case of sustainable finance, fintech take-up, and regulatory effectiveness. Technologically enabled regulated financial markets promise to enable long-term economic stability and growth.
