A Review on Substrates and Co-Substrates Used in Anaerobic Digester for Biogas Production
摘要
In the present days, anaerobic digestion is a widely used technology to address the energy issues and environment challenges. The production of biogas takes place due to anaerobic digestion of municipality, industrial and agricultural wastages. Methane and carbon dioxide are the primary constituents of biogas with 50–70% and 30–50% of total mass respectively. Biogas also contains other gases with small amount but the quality of biogas primarily relies on the type of substrates and technology used. This chapter describes different substrates and co-substrates used for generation of biogas production using anaerobic digestion process. In this chapter, different biogas digester used and factor affecting digestion process also have been discussed. Agricultural wastages are primarily used as substrates for generation of biogas but municipality and industrial wastages are also not lagging behind.
