THz 1 × 4 Array Patch Antenna for 6G and Biomedical Applications

In this paper, we presented a new methodology for enhancing the performance of patch antennas by using the array patch instead of single patch antenna. Our design is a 1 × 4 array patch antenna consisting of four single T-shaped patches, with a total size of 100 × 90 µm2. The array is implemented on a polyimide substrate with a thickness of 6 µm. Through a comparison between the simulated results for the single patch and array configurations, we demonstrated the significant benefits of using an array patch antenna to achieve high-performance characteristics suitable for both biomedical and 6G applications. The array exhibited an S11 of −44.14 dB, a VSWR of 1.02, a gain of 5.65 dB, and a directivity of 6.74 dB.
