Sustainable Management of Military Potential in the Context of Crisis Challenges Such as the COVID-19 Pandemic and the War in Ukraine
摘要
This article analyses the actions undertaken by the Polish Armed Forces in response to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing war in Ukraine, in the context of sustainable management of military potential. The aim is to evaluate the rationale for maintaining forces and resources capable of responding to crises while considering effective resource management and the role of military universities in the national security system. The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic revealed not only weaknesses in crisis management but also highlighted the importance of proper coordination between various services. The war in Ukraine further intensified the emphasis on responsible management of military resources, raising questions about possible scenarios and threats to Poland, including the need for continued strengthening of national security. The results of the analysis highlight the critical role of a balanced approach to managing military potential and the significant role that military universities can play a key role as scientific and research centres, primarily in the development of military technologies and training. The conclusions drawn from the involvement of the armed forces during both the pandemic and the conflict in Ukraine demonstrate the potential for effective coordination of actions between different branches of the armed forces and services and suggest the need for continued investment in military innovation, technological development, and strengthening international cooperation. In the long term, these efforts contribute to building more resilient national security structures based on the principles of sustainable development.
