Additive manufacturing is a very popular technology and is constantly developing. This is because it can be used in a wide range of industries by large companies as well as small and medium-sized enterprises. The availability of the technology and its advantages, caused an increase in the manufacturing of products with this technology. However, this method also has some disadvantages. As problems affecting the quality of fabricated parts arise, methods are being implemented to assist in their manufacturing, but also to improve the technology itself. In the era of Industry 4.0, in which this technology is one of the basic technologies, it is also important issue for manufacturers because it often supports the implementation of traditional manufacturing methods. Considering the advantages that outweigh the disadvantages and the availability of various printers from different manufacturers, as well as software for making models and generating.stl files, it is important to develop this technology further. Therefore, the article describes the additive manufacturing technology and shortly characterises the methods. An algorithm has also been developed for the implementation of the printing process. In addition because of the realization of the printouts, an analysis using an Ishikawa diagram was also carried out in order to improve the quality of the printouts.
