Aesthetics is an important qualitative aspect of games that can significantly influence players’ experience; however, its conceptualization as a Non-Functional Requirement (NFR) in game software remains underexplored. In this paper, we mapped a catalog of NFRs focused on the aesthetics of digital games. This represents an initial step toward providing a structured foundation that helps developers and designers treat aesthetics as a fundamental aspect of design, rather than a final refinement stage, thereby fostering richer and more satisfying aesthetic experiences for players. The catalog development was based on an analysis of key aesthetic theories, including MDA, GUESS, and Schell’s Elemental Tetrad. Additionally, it was refined and validated with the input of experts in related fields. The NFRs were modeled using the Softgoal Interdependence Graph (SIG), enabling a conceptual knowledge map that helps to understand and operationalize aesthetic requirements.
