The Primary Survey
摘要
The primary survey is a tool used in trauma activations to quickly evaluate a patient and treat any life-threatening injuries in a methodical manner. The components of the primary survey address the most common causes of immediate death in trauma patients, including airway obstruction, acute respiratory failure, hemorrhage, and traumatic brain injuries, with prompt resuscitation of the patient accordingly. Any decline in a patient’s status is an indication to repeat the primary survey.
