Exploring the Interpersonal Relationships in Virtual Reality: A Systematic Literature Review
摘要
The research aims to explore the evolution and impact of interpersonal interactions in virtual reality (VR) and the metaverse. Through a SLR it is possible to explore the multifaceted aspects of virtual interactions, including their purposes, technologies and contexts. Indeed, the analysis reveals that the main purposes are: (1) work-related activities, (2) leisure activities and (3) technology-mediated learning. Furthermore, the study explains the transition from conventional text-based communication to multi-sensory immersive experiences, emphasizing the influence of transforming virtual reality on interpersonal interactions using media richness theory. The primary technologies are text-based computer-mediated communication and the virtual community, which serve as the primary context for the development of interactors. The existing literary gap in the realm of managerial studies pertains to interpersonal interactions, to the purpose of learning activities, to the new metaverse technological issues and the contextual dimension of virtual teams. These are considerable as the starting points, the thematic pillars of the study, the motives on which create the formal structure and research design as well as significant for future research avenues.
