The Use of Transcutaneous Sutures to Lift the Nose
摘要
The shape of the nose tip defines the overall appearance, including its size, shape, angle, and width. Its look is determined by the alar cartilage’s position and shape, skin quality, and thickness. Size, strength, curvature, and placement of the tip cartilages and postoperative support of the suspensory ligaments determine the surgical outcome in rhinoplasty. Equally significant are the bridge and hump. In a perfect world, a mid-layer support structure would be visible through the skin after primary rhinoplasty, formed by modifying the tip cartilages through partial excision, transaction, repositioning, suture modification, or augmentation. When a revision is being considered for a rhinoplasty because additional improvement is needed, the most essential part of the surgery is setting the alar cartilage back to how it should be. Transcutaneous suture lift is a minimally invasive surgical technique used to increase projection and rotation in type surgery. It is a simple technique that achieves satisfactory results and is advantageous for selected patients because it can be performed under local anesthesia, the recovery time is very short, and the cost and complication rates are low.
