Fat-Harvesting Techniques

The biocompatible, natural, and cost-effective autologous fat grafting technique has been extensively used in reconstructive and cosmetic surgery to augment and replace soft tissues. The use of wetting solutions, the identification of fatty tissue donor sites, and the methods for harvesting, processing, and placement are only a few of the many recent developments in this field. Despite considerable breakthroughs in this topic, the lack of procedure uniformity and the unpredictability of graft resorption present a severe barrier to graft preservation and subsequent filling. Even though autologous fat grafting has been around for a while, a big problem is that the resorption after the transplant is unpredictable, which means you might have to inject yourself more often and still not get the results you want. To reduce fat graft loss to a minimum, it is crucial to optimize fat grafting procedures. The literature has continued to discuss which fat-harvesting procedures produce more live and functional adipocytes. The three primary methods include surgical excision, syringe, and vacuum aspiration. Direct fat excision, instead of aspiration, has recently gained support in experimental and clinical investigations.
