Despite increasing awareness of bipolar disorder and advancements in treatment, the condition can go undiagnosed and untreated for several years. Even those who receive an early diagnosis and begin treatment in a timely manner often experience recurrent mood episodes, which significantly affect their functioning and quality of life. This warrants the development of targeted interventions for those at risk of developing bipolar disorder to enhance early recognition, delay the neuroprogressive process, and reduce the burden of illness. In this chapter, we provide an overview of the research that has been conducted investigating the effects of psychosocial interventions in early recognition, risk modification, and reducing the severity of symptoms in individuals who are at risk for developing bipolar disorder.

摘要
