This concluding chapter synthesizes the emotional, ethical, and institutional dimensions explored throughout the study on journalists’ responses to the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into their professional practice. It highlights the complexity and nuance of emotional reactions, from curiosity to skepticism, and examines the tension between adaptability and ethical responsibility in a rapidly evolving technological environment. Through the conceptual frameworks of Humanized Diagnostic Media Approach (HDMA) and Critical Transparency and Informed Disclosure (CTID), the chapter proposes an alternative, reflexive model for understanding AI adoption: Imperfect AI. Drawing on peace-oriented mediation theories and relational ethics, it frames AI integration as an ongoing, situated, and culturally contingent process. Rather than viewing technology as a flawless solution, this model emphasizes continuous dialogue, emotional awareness, and ethical accountability. The chapter ultimately advocates for a human-centered, participatory approach to technological change in journalism, where imperfection is not a failure but a generative space for critical reflection, resilience, and responsible innovation.
