Complementary Health Approaches Commonly Used for Autism Spectrum Disorder
摘要
Complementary health approaches are commonly used by persons with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Professionals must be prepared to support families with evidence-based information regarding mind and body practices, diets, supplements, and other nontraditional forms of medicine. Clear targets for treatment and a child’s unique needs and abilities must inform the discussion of treatment approaches. New research highlighting the use of complementary health approaches to address immune-inflammatory pathways holds promise.
