Domestic Violence in Spain from A Gender Perspective: Risk Assessment and Analysis
摘要
Organic Act 1/2004 was a milestone in the effort to eradicate gender-based violence but has not fully achieved its objectives, primarily due to an overreliance on criminal law. Gender-based violence is a multifaceted issue influenced by various factors beyond the patriarchal context, necessitating a comprehensive approach to risk prediction and management. The roles of police, judges, and other professionals involved in victim protection are crucial for ensuring risk assessments are based on relevant information. Technological advancements, such as the predictive models used by VioGén System, can also contribute to a preventive approach. However, it is essential to recognize that criminal prosecution alone is insufficient and indicative of systemic failure. The goal is to enhance a more interdisciplinary preventive strategy to protect women and reduce victimization.
