Implementing agile management methodologies in large-scale projects can be advantageous for organizations. However, selecting the most appropriate methodology for a given project remains a complex task. This research aims to facilitate this choice by identifying the main agile frameworks applied to large-scale projects (such as Large-Scale Scrum, Scaled Agile Framework, Scrum of Scrums, Scrum-at-Scale, Spotify Model and Nexus), and subsequently understanding their characteristics, the differences between them, and defining the essential criteria for selecting the most appropriate agile methodology, through a systematic literature review (SLR). For this, eligibility, inclusion, and exclusion criteria were defined and applied after the search and data extraction conducted in the Scopus and Web of Science databases, and a set of four research questions was developed to guide the study in a structured way. Due to the limited number of articles collected, it was necessary to obtain grey literature. Twenty-one documents were included in the research, offering a solid foundation to answer the research questions. The results highlight the importance of considering the specificities of each project when choosing an agile framework, promoting effectiveness and efficiency in the management of complex projects. Challenges faced and possible areas for future research are also presented.
