This article is the result of a systematic review on educational leadership exercised by school principals in Latin America (LA) and its relationship with the gender perspective. The articles reviewed were published between 2019 and 2023 and selected based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria suggested by the PRISMA protocol, which made it possible to analyze 12 articles. The results show that the topics of the articles are grouped into: the political role of female principals as agents of change; experiences in the development of the position and leadership styles, concluding that there are differences in the type of leadership and inequalities in the trajectories of female school principals according to gender. In addition, the lack of development of this topic and the need for more contextualized research on school leadership and gender would make the reality of female principals in LA more visible.

摘要
