The main focus of this chapter is the massless limit of massive Yang-Mills theory, with mass added by hand. It analyses the theory in a way that is similar to the cosmological perturbation theory, showing also why and how to modify the decomposition of the vector field into the transverse and longitudinal modes in a non-linear way. Finally, this chapter demonstrates how one can obtain a smooth massless limit, by analyzing the non-linear theory.
