Introduction: Echoes of Ancestry
摘要
This chapter specifically endeavors to put forth a trajectory of how the social positioning and identity of the Nat community within the wider cultural milieu of India are undergoing endless shifting even in contemporary times, due to power structures of discrimination, inherently present in the ontological features, enlisted as justifiable grounds in the legal classifications of community, as DNTs (De-notified Tribes) during the colonial and SC (Schedule Caste) and OBC (Other Backward Caste) in the post-independent era. This exploration is not just an academic exercise but a philosophical inquiry into the nature of identity, justice, and truth in the context of subaltern groups.
