In the pastoral areas in western Inner Mongolia, China, as to the traditional heating modes of houses in winter, which are dominated by hypocaust and radiators, the heating performance is poor, and these heating modes cannot meet the heating and energy saving needs. With a lot of investigation, a new model of grassland residence based on multi-energy coupling system is established. The indoor temperatures and the building energy consumption under the traditional heating mode and a multi-energy coupled heating mode were analyzed with the Designbuilder software. The conclusion was that the indoor temperatures and the thermal comfort were increased significantly by the multi-energy coupled heating mode. Reducing energy consumption, economic efficiency is also greatly improved. In designing and constructing of grassland folk houses in western Inner Mongolia, the solar and wind energies, and the multi-energy coupled heating mode should be utilized fully. A new system was innovatively worked out of multi energies coupled heating modes, and the development of an integrated heating mode in the pastoral areas in western Inner Mongolia was achieved as well.
