Investigating Urban Sustainability: An Integrated Analysis Utilizing the GIS Framework

Urban sustainability is one of the significant challenges faced by today's society. Utilizing the Geographic Information System (GIS) framework for integrated analysis allows for more precise evaluation of urban environments, land use planning, monitoring of resource allocation, and assessment of ecosystem services. The research results show that by comparing and analyzing the changes in GIS maps for the years 2005, 2010, and 2020 based on four parameters—habitat quality, carbon emissions, Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI), and Ecosystem Services Value (ESV)—the study provides a reference for the subsequent enhancement of Yangzhou City's smart resilient city. This research contributes to enhancing urban resilience, reducing over-reliance on natural resources, and promoting coordinated economic, social, and environmental development, which is of great significance for achieving urban sustainability and improving the quality of life for residents.
