This study explores strategies for the concentrated and contiguous protection of traditional villages in Qianjiang District, Chongqing, emphasizing ecosystem conservation and water resource management. Traditional villages are vital for preserving cultural heritage and natural landscapes, but rapid urbanization has led to ecological challenges such as vegetation degradation, biodiversity loss, and water scarcity. Field surveys, data analysis, and interviews were conducted to assess the current state of ecosystems and water resources in eight villages. Findings revealed high vegetation coverage but significant soil erosion and biodiversity decline. Water sources, mainly natural rivers and springs, suffer from mild pollution and seasonal shortages. The research proposes comprehensive strategies, including vegetation restoration, water quality improvement, biodiversity conservation, and climate adaptation measures. Policy support and community participation are identified as critical for implementing these strategies effectively. The results aim to provide sustainable protection strategies that balance ecological health and water resource management, promoting the long-term stability of traditional villages.
