Carbon Emission Accounting and Decoupling Analysis After Energy-Saving Renovation of a Certain Industrial Park

Against the backdrop of increasingly severe global climate issues and steady progress in China's dual carbon strategy, research focuses on the carbon emissions of industrial parks, taking a certain industrial park of Sichuan Province in China that is currently undergoing capacity expansion and energy-saving transformation as the research object. The study first compiled statistics on the energy-saving renovation of the park and conducted carbon emission accounting; Secondly, analyze the carbon emissions of the park based on the proportion and intensity of each emission source; Finally, using the Tapio model, the relationship between carbon emissions and GDP, energy consumption and GDP, and carbon emissions and energy consumption in the park is explored from three dimensions: total decoupling, energy-saving decoupling, and emission reduction decoupling. Research has found that energy-saving renovations have little impact on the carbon emission structure of the park, but effectively slow down the rate of increase in carbon emission intensity. From the perspective of decoupling, the positive role of energy-saving transformation enables the park to shift towards a low-carbon emission and low-energy economic development model; And the energy consumption status continues to improve, steadily shifting towards a low-carbon mode.
