Identifying Gender Perspectives on Green Roof Attributes Efficiency in Improving Mental Health
摘要
Green roof is believed to benefit community in terms of mental health and wellbeing. Previous studies claimed that green roof may influence woman more than man. However, there are limited studies examining the difference in gender perspective toward green roof efficiency. Thus, this study aims to assess the percentage of green roof efficiency in improving mental health according to gender perspectives. Questionnaire survey is conducted within green roof residents and visitors and analyzed using frequency analysis paired with independent sample T-tests. Results indicated that there is a significant difference between green roof efficiency in improving mental health between male and female, where females tend to experience better improvement from the green roof exposure, accessibility, distance, tree density, size, facility, security, and maintenance. This study supports decision-making of government in planning green building developments to improve mental health of community.
