Ceramics are very good indicators of cultural change, and this does not differ in the contemporary era, though contemporary archaeological discussions on ceramics have been limited. This chapter examines the changes that took place in the postwar period that fundamentally changed important social traditions like coffee drinking in Finland. The ceramics cups are discussed as specifically matrilinear items. There was also one cup found in Vaakunakylä that may have been a special attachment object.
