Different approaches and frameworks can be applied for designing the MTCS course. This chapter suggests five possible perspectives on the MTCS course that can guide the course design: the NCATE standards, merging computer science with pedagogy, Shulman’s model of teachers’ knowledge, research findings, and the MERge model. We also suggest three detailed MTCS course syllabi, one of which, that fosters skill development, is organized around a hackathon.

摘要

Different approaches and frameworks can be applied for designing the MTCS course. This chapter suggests five possible perspectives on the MTCS course that can guide the course design: the NCATE standards, merging computer science with pedagogy, Shulman’s model of teachers’ knowledge, research findings, and the MERge model. We also suggest three detailed MTCS course syllabi, one of which, that fosters skill development, is organized around a hackathon.
