This chapter examines a dislocation moving at constant velocity while carrying an associated manifested process zone. We focus on simulations to investigate changes in the zone’s configuration, followed by an analysis of the evolving structure of the order parameter distribution. Next, we analytically estimate key geometrical parameters of the zone, which serve as a basis for calculating the friction force exerted on the dislocation (Boulbitch and Korzhenevskii, First presented here).
