This chapter explores the characteristics of the first-order process zone at the crack tip within the hysteresis region on the phase diagram. First, our simulations confirmed the existence of the setback in the motionless regime as theoretically predicted previously. Subsequently, they reveal a significant morphological transformation of the propagating process zone with increasing crack velocity (Boulbitch and Korzhenevskii 2018).
