It examines how countries across South Asia, Africa, Australia, Latin America, North America, and Europe are implementing practices such as conservation agriculture, agroforestry, and regenerative land management to enhance soil organic C sequestration and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The chapter also reviews policy measures adopted in these regions to promote C farming, highlighting both enabling factors and key barriers to adoption, including financial incentives, policy design, monitoring challenges, and social and cultural dynamics. It emphasizes the importance of robust monitoring, reporting, and verification systems, inclusive payment models, and the integration of traditional knowledge into modern agricultural practices. Emerging research priorities such as soil inorganic C sequestration, the use of perennial vegetation, and integrated farming systems are also discussed. The chapter concludes that with supportive policies, strong institutional collaboration, and broad stakeholder engagement, C farming can be scaled as a climate resilient, socially inclusive, and economically viable pathway toward sustainable agricultural transformation.
