Achieving an optimal garment fit for diverse body shapes remains a persistent challenge in the fashion and apparel industry. Traditional sizing systems are based on standardised body proportions, which exclude individuals with non-standard body shapes. Digital anthropometry and automated pattern adjustment, when integrated with digital human modelling (DHM), offer a promising solution for enhancing garment fit and inclusivity. This study explores the application of digital body scanning and computational pattern adjustments to improve garment design for individuals with unique body proportions. Using a methodology that includes 3D body scanning and digital pattern modification, the study demonstrates how these technologies can enhance fit, reduce production inefficiencies, and support sustainable practices in fashion.
