In the last chapter we examined how the complexity of a script used to write a language interacts with technology and thus how it affects the act of writing using that technology. In this chapter we turn to the complexity of the writing system. As we introduced earlier, a script is a set of symbols that includes rules about how those symbols are to be combined to create texts in that script.
