Obesity is a serious, common and costly chronic disease with increasing prevalence in the US and globally. Minimally invasive Roux-en-Y gastric bypass is one of the most reliable and effective operations for patients with morbid obesity. In this chapter, we describe the technique for minimally invasive Roux-en-Y gastric bypass approach with robotic assistance providing illustrations of the key intraoperative surgical steps.
