Achalasia is an esophageal motility disorder characterized by impaired relaxation of the lower esophageal sphincter. Per-oral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) has arisen as an effective minimally invasive treatment option for patients with achalasia. In this chapter, each step of per-oral endoscopic myotomy with intraprocedural images is described.
