The treatment of Barrett’s esophagus (BE) has been revolutionized by the introduction of radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and cryoablation (CA) therapy. These are subsets of endoscopic eradication therapy for BE, which also includes endoscopic submucosal dissection and endoscopic mucosal resection. In this chapter, we will review the efficacy, safety, and outcomes of RFA and CA use for the treatment of Barrett’s esophagus with dysplasia and intramucosal adenocarcinoma.

摘要

The treatment of Barrett’s esophagus (BE) has been revolutionized by the introduction of radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and cryoablation (CA) therapy. These are subsets of endoscopic eradication therapy for BE, which also includes endoscopic submucosal dissection and endoscopic mucosal resection. In this chapter, we will review the efficacy, safety, and outcomes of RFA and CA use for the treatment of Barrett’s esophagus with dysplasia and intramucosal adenocarcinoma.
