Anticancer antibiotics, which are also called antitumor, are a class of anticancer drugs that are used in the clinic for the treatment of various neoplasms. These antibiotics damage cellular DNA through different mechanisms and exert their antitumor effect. They include three categories: anthracyclines, chromomycins, and miscellaneous. In this chapter, the applications, mechanism of action, and side effects of these three categories of antibiotics are explained.
