Immunotherapy for Prostate Cancer
摘要
Prostate cancer (PCa) is the most common cancer in men which significantly increases death in this group. The main causes of increased deaths are advanced disease stages and therapeutic failure. Treatment options include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, hormone therapy, and cryotherapy, but PCa still remains incurable. Selecting a PCa treatment plan involves considering growth rate, metastasis, and therapy options. Expensive treatments have serious side effects, making it crucial to find affordable, fewer-side-effect drugs. Based on recent clinical studies, suitable alternative methods have been suggested for the treatment of PCa, which include immunotherapy methods and treatment methods based on aptamers, RNA interference (RNAi), and the prostate microbiome. Each of these treatment methods will be reviewed based on recent clinical studies in this chapter, and the advantages and disadvantages of them will be evaluated.
