Education in a Crisis-Hit Environment
摘要
This chapter analyses what education is and the role of the school in a digital age. In addition, this chapter examines the relationship between the school and the environment in which it operates and at the same time studies the dimensions of technological advances and environmental risks. A school’s rapid response to digital literacy and to its environmental risks is key for the healthy development and sustainability of a school system. Indeed, it is an essential function of any school system to oversee the adaptation of its schools to rapid change and, in order to succeed, schools need proper guidance in risk management and strategic planning. For school units to deal with crises in a mature manner requires specific measures, since the educational community is immediately called upon to face and effectively manage the impact of a crisis, leveraging modern technological means, tools and information systems in the process.
