This study aims to explore how the local knowledge of the Baduy indigenous community adapts to climate change and how the local wisdom of the Baduy indigenous community carries out the process of managing their customary land. Qualitative data were obtained from interviews with the community and local customary leaders. The results of the study show that the strength of customs and local knowledge about climate change in the Baduy indigenous community comes from hereditary knowledge. They pay attention to natural signs such as changes in animal behavior, plant growth patterns, and other environmental conditions. They adjust the types of local rice plants or other food crops based on the dry season or rainy season. The Baduy indigenous community has local knowledge about natural resource management in overcoming drought, traditional water management, and the selection of drought-resistant plants. Local knowledge to maintain sustainability in providing food in the face of climate change is a novelty in this book chapter.
