Generative artificial intelligence (GAI) has the potential to transform many areas of business, including human resource management. Despite the enormous attention surrounding GAI, its application in hiring processes is underexplored. This paper conducts a systematic literature review on integrating GAI into hiring processes using the Antecedents-Phenomenon-Outcomes framework, which provides a structured lens for analyzing the application of GAI in this context. Four themes emerged from the review: factors affecting GAI adoption, affordances, challenges, and potential outcomes. The findings highlight GAI’s potential to enhance efficiency and the applicant experience while raising concerns about reliability, bias, privacy, security, and legal implications. The paper concludes that businesses should approach GAI adoption in hiring processes with caution and emphasizes the need for further empirical research to validate its potential and tackle its challenges.

摘要
