Conclusion
摘要
This concluding chapter synthesizes the core themes and findings of the book, underscoring the socio-spatial dynamics of Black fandom within NASCAR and the broader racialized geographies of sport. Emphasizing agency, placemaking, and everyday resistance, the chapter highlights how Black fans actively negotiate and rework a historically White sporting space. Additionally, the chapter reinforces the necessity of examining racialized space as a constitutive force in sport as opposed to a backdrop to participation. Taken together, final reflection lends credence to how Black fans construct and employ practices to transform their geographic movement into realities that challenge and subvert a culture of racism endemic to NASCAR, as well as make meaning of and navigate the machinations of whiteness within the geographies of this sporting space.
