Finding out how higher education fits into the larger framework of digital transformation was the driving force behind this research. Because of this, document analysis, a qualitative research method, was employed. These studies were analyzed for their content. On top of that, 3000 articles about digital transformation and 400 articles about digital transformation at Palestinian universities were analyzed using the Scopus database for bibliometric purposes. Two frameworks were derived from this research: one for digital transformation in higher education with components such as research and capability, and another for organizational culture, model, product, services, process, technology, and strategy. The similarities between the two frameworks’ components and the variances that were noted were a result of the different institutional systems in play. Last but not least, the study suggests that institutions should use these frameworks to guide their digital transition and to promote additional research.
