摘要

Sustainability requires balancing environmental quality, social equity, economic growth, and political justice to enhance long-term community resilience and quality of life. The research gives a literature review about the principles, objectives, characteristics and some of the rating systems that are used all over the world. It investigates the challenges hindering sustainable development, including inadequate infrastructure, limited green spaces, inefficient waste management, economic disparities, and lack of social cohesion. The study examines the transformative impact of Sustainable Eco Communities, particularly in the context of global crises like the Covid-19 pandemic, which underscores the necessity of interconnected and adaptable urban environments. The research analyzes the principles and rating systems that define sustainable communities, focusing on strategies to minimize energy use, reduce emissions, and integrate sustainable transportation systems. Through a case study approach, the study demonstrates how these strategies contribute to improved well-being, resilience, and positive urban living. It highlights the pandemic’s influence on urban design, emphasizing the need for adaptable and sustainable lifestyles. The findings underscore that sustainable eco-communities are essential, not optional, for future survival. By fostering awareness, efficient resource management, and equitable urban design, communities can achieve sustainability and resilience in an increasingly interconnected and uncertain world. The methodology that is used is inductive and deductive methodology in combination to collect the required data and information and formatting the literature review about the concept of Sustainable Eco Communities.
