The Effects of Digitalization Features on Work Performance
摘要
This article provides a comprehensive explanation of the unique effects of work digitization on the mindset and behavior of two different groups of employees—favorites and vulnerable employees. Using social identity theory, it has been suggested that formal socialization techniques, leadership, and artificial intelligence are likely to increase managers’ openness to expressing their opinions. However, due to their concerns about impression management, managers’ changed mindset is likely to have a negative impact on the knowledge management strategies and productivity of favorites. As a result, these individuals tend to adopt protective strategies and feel psychologically detached from their workplace. In contrast, the emergence of virtual work patterns and technological digitization may give vulnerable employees the opportunity to speak up more freely due to easier access to information and educational resources. Therefore, these employees’ sense of psychological ownership and sense of positive social identity are likely to improve as a result of this experience.
