On a Genre of Creative Reflection as Critical Engagement to Decolonize Higher Education and Resist Human Rights Violations
摘要
In this chapter, the notion of creative reflection is used to examine the role of an African philosophy of higher education in the processes of decolonization and human rights advocacy. Firstly, it is argued that creative reflection transformatively enables students and university teachers to critically engage one another. Creative reflection is meant to resist colonial legacies and human rights violations. Secondly, it is shown that creative reflection aims to decolonize teaching-learning. Thirdly, it is indicated that students and teachers are summoned to actively change social contexts; in this instance, higher education environments. In these ways, it is argued that creative reflection is integral to an African philosophy of higher education.
