Diverse strategies are employed by higher education institutions on a global scale to enhance the facets of sustainability. These approaches encompass organizational change aimed at accommodating dimensions of sustainability, increasing academic programs with sustainability perspective, establishing research centers and increasing community engagements dedicated to the pursuit of sustainability, encompassing tenets such as pollution prevention, resource conservation, and other ecologically conscious endeavors. This paper presents the sustainability initiatives undertaken by Batangas State University, The National Engineering University in the Philippines, with the objective of fostering sustainability across its entire network of campuses. With its 11 satellite campuses, the University orchestrates the formulation of strategic blueprints and operational modalities, whilst cementing channels of communication to ensure the participation of stakeholders. Ranging from the creation of the Center for Sustainable Development to the constitution of the Sustainable Development Committee and further strengthening the formulation of policies and mechanisms to bridge the identified gaps, strengthening the efforts of research centers for the protection of Verde Island Passage, the engagement of students, teaching and non-teaching personnel, administrative officials, as well as partners in the pursuit of sustainability. Communication emerges as a pivotal factor underpinning the sustainability trajectory of the University. Dialogic exchanges, consultative meetings, the exchange of insights and experiential narratives, all coalesce to cultivate a cohort of sustainability champions across multiple levels. Additionally, the act of reporting and feedback dissemination, coupled with the developing messages tailored to increase engagement and participation among stakeholders, collectively constitute the communicative paradigms set into motion. Thus, this thereby continuously activating the holistic university system towards the attainment of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

摘要
