The paper explores the restructuring process of extension programs at the University of Passo Fundo, which started in 2021. The proposal aimed to integrate them into the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through interdisciplinary projects and community engagement. The methodology employed a participatory and critical approach, resulting in the approval of 68 extension projects and the creation of the “UPF 2030 Agenda.” Since then, this initiative has enhanced the students’ development while promoting global citizenship education. The results have impacted local communities, with numerous individuals benefiting from the project’s actions and services. The university’s efforts have increased student involvement and sustainable practices and strengthened the extension of academic curricula, thereby contributing to regional development.
