Transaction Costs of The Green Campus Management Program at IPB University, Indonesia
摘要
Indonesia must implement the decisions made at the 26th Conference of the Parties (COP26) of the United Nations Framework on Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC) in Scotland by conducting mitigation and adaptation activities to meet emission reduction targets. Universities are required to be innovative in supporting these initiatives. The UI GreenMetric World University Ranking (UIGMWUR) is one such initiative by universities. IPB University is an active participant in the UIGMWUR. Although IPB University’s Green Campus indicator scores have increased, its ranking in the UIGMWUR has declined over the past four years. The stakeholders, institutional structures, and transaction costs of the IPB University green campus program must be understood in order to identify the causes. The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) and Microsoft Excel were used for this analysis. The results showed that ten stakeholders were directly involved in managing the green campus program at IPB University. IPB University incurred transaction costs for the green campus program during the 2018–2020 period, amounting to IDR 23,783,836,091. These transaction costs were related to monitoring or maintenance, educational campaigns and outreach, internalization of green campus activities, information seeking, regulation or policy-making, and the imposition of sanctions.
