Sustainable development is development that guarantees that the needs of the present are met without compromising the future. The aim is to present some of the projects and actions developed at Afya Itabuna, Brazil. Investment has been made in the installation of solar panels, water pipes and the 3R’s Project: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Others are focused on animal protection and a comfortable environment for people with disabilities. In education, medical training involves society, reconciling economic growth, environmental preservation and social justice. People who are aware of their own socio-environmental impacts can show greater understanding and propose changes to current systems that are unsustainable and that depend on planning and recognizing that natural resources are finite.
