Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga: Conceptual Components, Facilitation Guides, and Reflections
摘要
Third-wave behavioural therapies bring forth several important components into psychotherapeutic care—notably context and body. Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) is one approach that considers the participant’s context of past/present traumas while incorporating the body into trauma recovery psychotherapies. Body-first interventions can address the impacts of trauma on the whole person, centred on their body, without necessitating them to verbalise their story. TCTSY is a specific model of trauma-sensitive yoga that contains a distinct set of domains with theoretical underpinnings and a methodology corresponding to each domain. The present chapter explores the five TCTSY domains: (1) interoception, (2) invitational language, (3) making choices, (4) non-coercion, and (5) shared authentic experience. Each domain is explored through discussion of its (a) conceptual components, (b) method of integration into facilitation, and (c) reflections.
