Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) integrates mindfulness practices with cognitive behavioural therapy to address mental health challenges, particularly recurrent depression. This chapter synthesises systematic reviews and meta-analyses to evaluate MBCT’s effectiveness across various populations and conditions, such as anxiety, stress, and chronic pain. Findings indicate that MBCT significantly reduces depressive symptoms and relapse rates, enhances mindfulness skills, and improves overall mental health outcomes. The chapter also identifies gaps in the literature, such as the need for long-term efficacy studies and research on diverse populations. It highlights the importance of integrating MBCT into clinical practice and suggests future research directions, including the exploration of technology-enhanced delivery methods and comprehensive monitoring of potential adverse effects. Overall, MBCT shows promise as a valuable intervention for improving mental health, emphasising the necessity for evidence-based practices in the face of rising mental health issues globally.

摘要
